By downloading or using Portfol.io, you agree to these terms.

1. Who can use Portfol.io

Portfol.io is designed for medical trainees maintaining a professional development portfolio. You must be 18 or over to use the app.

2. What the app does and does not do

Portfol.io assists you in organising and structuring reflective portfolio entries. It does not provide clinical decision support, diagnostic advice, or medical recommendations. The AI-generated text is a drafting aid — you are responsible for reviewing, editing, and ensuring the accuracy of any entry before submission to your ePortfolio.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you create. By using the app you grant us a limited licence to process your anonymised data to provide the service and, in de-identified aggregated form, to improve the service and support medical education research (see Privacy Policy).

You are responsible for ensuring that no patient-identifiable information is submitted unintentionally and that your use of the app complies with your employer's information governance policies and applicable NHS data protection guidelines.

4. Subscriptions and payments

• A free trial allows one entry without an account.
• Paid plans (Monthly, Annual, Lifetime) are managed through Apple's App Store.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their standard refund policy.
• Prices may change with reasonable notice.

5. Acceptable use

You must not:

• Use the app to process or store real patient-identifiable information in violation of UK GDPR or NHS data governance requirements.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or redistribute the app.
• Misuse the service in a way that could harm other users or the integrity of the platform.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is". We make no warranty that the AI-generated content is accurate, complete, or suitable for submission without review. Portfolio assessors retain full discretion over the acceptability of any entry.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
